  • Laboratory equipped with modern and sophisticated instruments to facilitate research work on basic sciences with special reference to physico-chemical properties, antioxidants, nutraceuticals and bioactive molecules.
  • Laboratory scale test methods and quality evaluation facilities for spices and spice based conventional and specialty products.
  • Well-equipped pilot scale facilities for primary and secondary processing of spices special reference to spice oils and oleoresin and also fabrication of equipment in collaboration with Food Engineering Department.
  • The department offers a variety of technologies in Post – harvest handling and processing of Major, minor and leaf spices. More than 50 products have been developed, most of which have been commercialized.
