R&D Activities

 

  • Design and development of RTE packaged foods for disaster relief operations.
  • Design of packaging for Temple prasadams
  • Refrigerated Foods with Extended Durability (REPFED)
  • Design of O2 Scavenger for O2 sensitive food products
  • Design of Ethylene Scavenger for ethylene sensitive fresh products for extension of shelf life
  • Use of bio-antimicrobial agent; their nano particles and synergic effect of different combinations of bio-nano particles on antimicrobial activity for food packaging applications.
  • Studies on modified atmosphere packaging of Indian flat breads & traditional sweets
  • Natural Extracts which have anti-bacterial, anti–fungal, anti-viral and other preventive properties are studied for preventing the spoilage food products
  • Development of time temperature indicators to monitor shelf-life of short to medium shelf-life foods based on the activation energy of the food for spoilage
  • Computer simulation used to predict the moisture changes and thereby shelf-life at constant and varying storage conditions including major Indian cities
  • Study the specific migration of activities and nanoparticles to food.
